On Sunday, 5 April, it's time for the annual Angela's Picnic. This is the 28th time that this event takes place. It was originally started by Angela Heinz, the enthusiastic owner and importer of Morgan cars. Angela was well known for leading the entrance to the event in her pink Morgan, with the objective of attracting as many participants as possible, in order to collect money for charity, especially the fight against cancer. Sadly, Angela herself is no longer with us, having passed away as a result of cancer in 1997. Hence the annual collection on behalf of the Cancer Fund in memory of that doughty lady who started ‘Angela’s Picnic”. Pack a picnic basket and join us from 09:30 onwards. A small donation in the “bucket” will be appreciated by the organisers. As the event is local you can make your own way there, or join one of the Mini convoys. Contact your local Mini club, or Kollie, to find out if your club has organised a convoy. Angela’s Picnic takes place in Delta Park, just off 1st Ave, Linden (with the entrance on the Victory Park side). If uncertain of the location, please contact Kollie for directions. (Although there are normally ‘AA’ signposts, as well)
